College Football Week 11 Going Strong


There’s no stopping this train! After the cancellations and games postponed on Monday night football, fans have been worried that the 2020 season may be shutting down. Despite the setbacks, College Football Week 11 is on!

NCAA Week 11 begins tonight with three MAC games and no cancellations. Clemson star quarterback Trevor Lawrence returns to practice after dealing with Covid-19. Clemson has an open date Saturday.

Alabama at LSU and Texas A&M at Tennessee postponed their games scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 14 due to positive COVID-19 tests.

Navy also postponed its football game against Memphis due to positive cases at the Naval Academy.

This years’ season looks nothing like we imagined it would be, but players, coaches, and fans are learning to deal with uncertainty. Week 11 fantasy football rankings have turned out to be amazing. 

Wisconsin canceled games against Purdue and Nebraska and is in danger of falling under the minimum number of games required to be eligible for the conference championship. The university has projected confidence the Badgers would be able to play this weekend’s game against Michigan.

What about Playoff?

The impact is not the same for all teams or players though. Missed games have a deep impact on Texas A&M’s push for the playoff. Since the Aggies’ lost to Alabama, their best chance at finishing in the top four is to win out in style against the rest of the SEC schedule. The number of data points presented to the playoff selection committee will diminish if they play even one fewer game.

The College Football Playoff picture is beginning to take shape and fans are more excited than ever. Mystery does keep the adrenaline flowing!

At this point last season five teams had at least a 50% chance to make it to the playoff and no other teams had more than a 15% chance. This year, there are still eight teams with at least a 15% chance to reach the playoff. College football week 11 will turn out to be amazing. Fans are addressing a solemn request to God for their teams to make it to the playoffs this year!
