WINNERS

BRAD KASELOWSKI — He dominated New Hampshire, talked about his high expectations for Richmond and followed through with a strong performance in the same car for his fourth victory of the season. He plans to have that car again at Phoenix. If he’s in the championship race, the car could be what gets Keselowski to a second Cup title.

AUSTIN DILLON — Heck of a way to open the playoffs. He seems in position to advance to the second round, something he hasn’t done the last two times he was in the playoffs.

JOEY LOGANO— Joins Austin Dillon as the only drivers to score top fives in each of the first two playoff races.

JUSTIN ALLGAIER — He swept the weekend at Richmond winning both Xfinity races and scoring 12 out of a possible 14 playoff points. He’s building momentum for the playoffs with one race left in the Xfinity regular season.

LOSERS

RYAN BLANEY — He had never finished better than 17th in a Cup race at Richmond. That streak continued. He finished 19th. Blaney remains last in the playoff standings. He’s 27 points out of the final transfer spot, meaning he likely needs to win next week at Bristol or his playoffs will be over.

MATT DiBENEDETTO — Again was a non-factor among the playoff field, finishing 17th. He’s 25 points out of the final transfer spot heading to Bristol.

WILLIAM BYRON — Finished 21st, worst among the 16 playoff drivers. Never was a factor. After the race, he said: “It was really kind of a slow death the entire race.”
